Kanpur News: Two streets and a park in Kanpur city of Uttar Pradesh will be named after late comedian Raju Srivastava. The road leading from Kidwai Nagar square to Raju Srivastava’s house and a road near Bhuleshwar temple in Swaroop Nagar area of the city will now be named after Raju Srivastava.
Resolution passed in the house of the Municipal Corporation
Kanpur Municipal Corporation’s session was held on Saturday. During this, corporators Kamal Shukla Baby, Mahendra Pandey and Sunil Kanojia proposed two roads and a park in the name of late comedian Raju Srivastava. The resolution was passed unanimously by Mayor Pramila Pandey and all the members of the House. One road leads to his residence in Kidwai Nagar and the other road is located in Bholeshwar temple area in Swaroop Nagar. The park is also near his house.
Raju Srivastava’s statue will be installed in the park
According to the sources of Kanpur Municipal Corporation, a statue of him will also be installed in the park which is being named after Raju Srivastava. Let us inform that famous comedian Raju Srivastava, living in Kidwai Nagar area of Kanpur, died on 21 September at the age of 58. He breathed his last in AIIMS, Delhi.
Was admitted on August 10 due to ill health
Raju Srivastava was admitted to the hospital on August 10 after suffering chest pain and collapsing during a workout at the gym. Since then he was undergoing treatment in the hospital. Raju Srivastava’s real name was Satya Prakash Srivastava. Later he was known as Gajodhar Bhaiya. He was nominated by the Samajwadi Party in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur seat, but returned the ticket. He later joined the BJP in the same year. He was also the President of Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.
