New Delhi: The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has for the first time released a report on auto sales in the Navratri period. It added that the car sales saw a 57 per cent increase from Navratri last year. FADA President Manish Raj Singhania said that growth has been seen in all categories. This year the Navratri period was from 26 September to 5 October and in 2021 from 6 October to 15 October.
A total of 5,39,227 vehicles were sold during Navratri this year, as against 3,42,459 last year. Of these 5.39 lakh vehicles, 3,69,020 were two-wheelers.
Singhania said, for the first time, FADA is releasing Navratri auto retail figures. There was a massive increase of 57 percent in the total retail sales as compared to Navratri’21. All categories 2W, 3W, CV, PV and tractors registered extremely high growth with growth of 52 per cent, 115 per cent, 48 per cent, 70 per cent and 58 per cent respectively.
Compared to pre-Covid levels, Navratri 2022 saw an increase in car sales. A growth of 16 per cent was registered during Navratri’19. Even then all categories registered positive momentum with growth of 4 per cent, 31 per cent, 37 per cent, 59 per cent and 90 per cent respectively in 2W, 3W, CV, PV and tractors.
